Q. Where do we get beach stickers and how much do they cost? A. Middletown stickers may be obtained at the main Second Beach Parking Lot entrance between 9am-4pm. Third Beach stickers are free to residents and allow access to the boat ramp area and the public beach as well as parking at Dunlap-Wheeler Part at Row Y-9 at Atlantic Beach. A Middletown Beaches sticker covers Second and Third Beaches. The cost is $90 for a non-Resident, $45 for a Resident. To obtain a resident sticker you must bring proof of residency-- a copy of your lease (1-year minimum), tax bill or car registration. Stickers for Newport's Easton's Beach are available from the Newport Recreation Department (845-5800). Rates are non-Resident $60, Newport Resident $30.
Q. When are dogs allowed on the beach? A. From May 1st until the weekend following Labor Day weekend dogs are allowed on area beaches from sunrise to 7:45am. From September- April, dogs are welcome anytime provided they are leashed and the poop is scooped.
